In this tutorial we will do more distressing. I won't go into elaborate instructions because really its the same process used as in distressing a picture frame
Things you will need:
1. sand paper fine and coarse
2. painting brush (the cheaper the better)
3. candle (or wax)
4. regular paint in two different colors plus white (here you can use any combination you want. One color and white will do just as well)
I have had this old bed for years. Originally it was untreated wicker very light in color. About 5 years ago I stained it red because all the furniture that I had was of a reddish color. Now I am sick of it. Instead of dumping the bed, I decided to try it in white and stress it up a bit.
I took it apart and applied some light green. Let it dry and apply candle wax.

Then I finished it with white paint and let it dry. I didn't use any red this time because the bed had previously had red stain on it.

Sand off the spots where you applied candle wax. I sanded everywhere because of the underlying red.

Let it dry and we're done. I think it looks much better than red and I won't tire of it for a few years. After that I am dumping the bed :-)
